One of the most common concerns I hear from patients—especially those new to lip
filler—is:
“Is it going to hurt?”
The short answer:
Not at Be Beautiful Medical.
Over the years, I’ve developed and refined a technique that allows my patients to have their lip filler done with virtually no pain—and it’s made all the difference in comfort, confidence, and results.
Why Comfort Matters in Lip Filler
Yes, lip filler is a medical-aesthetic treatment, but that doesn’t mean it should be uncomfortable. In fact, the more relaxed and pain-free you are, the better your outcome can be—for a few key reasons:
- You’re less tense, which helps with precision placement
- I can take my time and focus fully on shape and symmetry
- You’re more likely to return for maintenance, knowing it’s not a painful process
- We often see less bruising and swelling when patients are relaxed and still
What Is a Modified Dental Block?
At Be Beautiful Medical, I use a modified dental block technique that numbs the lips completely—similar to what you’d receive at the dentist, but adapted for aesthetics.
This involves a few small injections inside the mouth that numb the entire lip area within minutes. Once it’s working, you won’t feel any of the filler going in. No topical numbing cream. No discomfort. Just a smooth, calm experience.
Why I Prefer This Technique
I didn’t always use this method. Earlier in my practice, I used topical numbing creams like many injectors do. But I found they had limitations:
- Inconsistent numbing effect
- Doesn’t provide full anesthesia, especially in sensitive areas
After switching to the dental block method, the difference was immediate. My patients were significantly more comfortable, and I could focus on the art and precision of lip shaping without worrying about flinching or discomfort.
What Patients Say
While I can’t share testimonials due to medical advertising guidelines, I can tell you this:
Many of my patients are surprised by how easy the experience is.
They walk out saying, “That was way better than I expected,” and they often return with confidence knowing pain is not part of the process.
Is It Safe?
Yes. Dental blocks are commonly used in both medical and dental settings, and when performed correctly, they are very safe. As a physician and surgeon, I have extensive experience with injection anatomy and always prioritize safety, sterile technique, and patient comfort.
What to Expect
- We always start with a detailed consultation prior to booking your lip filler to ensure you are a candidate and that it’s safe to perform.
- On the day of treatment, we will use a modified dental block to provide full numbness.
- Once the area is completely anesthetized, I perform the treatment while you remain relaxed and comfortable.
- You can expect a calm, pain-free experience with your comfort as our top priority.
Bottom Line
Lip filler doesn’t have to hurt—and at Be Beautiful Medical, it doesn’t.
